Discover the principles of relief-based printmaking – focusing on monotypes and woodcuts. A great beginner’s course to understand a variety of tools and techniques that can be applied both at home or in the print studio and becoming familiar with use of a printing press.
A second term of classes continues the creative journey: building on learnt processes from the introductory class and discovering reduction woodcuts and multi-board techniques.
Many students take up the opportunity to carry on for several terms, exploring their own ideas and learning through experimentation and class discussion to further develop their printmaking skills in a relaxed and friendly studio environment.
Both terms offer additional instruction on how to prepare an edition of prints, signing and labelling, framing and how to show-case your work for exhibition purposes.
Those with printmaking experience are also welcome.
