Plein Air Carving and Printing January Workshop

Term: 18 Jan –
18 Jan
When: 9:30am –
12:30pm
Where: Printroom
Price: $45.00
There are 9 seats left for this class!

In this workshop, we go plain air to observe shadow and light, positive and negative space and record what we see directly on the surface of small wooden plates. The direct translation from eye to plate with the knife allows for a more subjective and intuitive mark.

No need to be scared: there is no right or wrong! On small tables, we ink and print the plates straight away. Afterwards, we show, tell and share a cuppa on location.

Please consider that we are sitting on the ground, and kneeling can’t be avoided when printing.

Most Materials are provided, and carving tools are available to purchase. (Price to be confirmed)

Bring your own carving knives, please take care that they are suitable for wood carving. You will need a small and medium U, a V and a straight knife.
