“INDIAN ART TECHNIQUES”

Course Outline

  • Number of classes: 6 classes comprised of 2 hours per week spread over 6 weeks.
  • Course day: Wednesday
  • Start date: 20 May-24 June
  • Class format: Online class via ZOOM. Before the course starts your tutor will send you the instructions (via email) to get connected on ZOOM.
  • Time: 10 am to 12 noon (2 hours online class – 35 mins > 10 mins break > 35 mins > 10 mins break > 30 mins)
  • Number of students: 6 maximum

Come learn something new, meet other creatives, and leave with original art that you can be proud of. Our special art class gives you the ability to incorporate traditional Indian art forms like Madhubani, Warli, Lippan, Tanjore and Relief into a modern and contemporary form.

This class is suitable for all skill levels, you can be an absolute beginner wanting to plunge into the art world and try out a painting class or be an experienced artist wanting to explore a new painting technique to enrich your painting. This class will take you through learning basics in Indian art form to different kind of tools and plenty of tips and tricks from Geetanjali. You will leave this class feeling confident in developing your new painting technique along with excitement towards creating a brand-new work of your own!

In this course, you will learn Warli and Madhubani art forms.

This is an ONLINE course via ZOOM – a virtual learning environment. ZOOM is very easy to use. Closer to the course start date you will receive a ZOOM meeting invite. Duration of this class will be 10-15 minutes and the idea is to test the ZOOM connectivity for each participant and resolve any related issues.

  1. Acrylic Paint (Tube)
    • Either a multi-pack or individual colours
  1. Brushes
    • Flat: Number 2, 4 and 6
    • Filbert: Number 2 and 4
    • Round: Number 0
  2. Canvas (size and quantity of your choice)
  3. Masking Tape
  4. Oil colour (Tube)
    • 1 x Burnt Umber (smallest available size)
  5. Palette or disposable plates
  6. Pencil and Eraser
  7. Rag or paper towel
  8. Toothpick

Optional item

  1. A pack of assorted palette knives
