New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Award 2013

The winner for the 2013 NZPPA was announced at the exhibition's gala opening on 15 February, with the prize going to Kirsten Roberts for her painting 'Ocularis'.

Judge Blair French also awarded two merit awards:  to Jessica Pearless for 'Satellite' and to Graham Fletcher for 'Just what is it that makes today's homes so different, so appealing?'  French is well known as a curator, writer and teacher and is currently executive director of Artspace in Sydney.

The $20,000 award was supplied by the Philip Vela Family Trust, which also purchased the winning work.

The exhibition runs from Friday 15th through until Thursday 28th of February with Free Entry. All works are for sale. Visitors are invited to vote for a 'People's Choice Award' to be awarded at the end of the exhibition.
